Eli Lilly's investigational drug, retatrutide, has shown remarkable potential in treating obesity and its complications. In clinical trials, retatrutide significantly reduced weight, improved glycemia, and alleviated knee osteoarthritis pain and obstructive sleep apnea. Participants in the TRIUMPH-1 trial lost an average of 70.3 lbs, with 65.3% achieving a BMI below 30. Retatrutide also reduced knee osteoarthritis pain by up to 73.1% and obstructive sleep apnea severity by 60.6%. Similarly, the TRANSCEND-T2D-1 trial demonstrated substantial weight loss and A1C reductions of up to 2.0%. These findings highlight retatrutide's potential to address multiple obesity-related conditions simultaneously, offering a promising treatment option for patients with obesity and its complications.
